This project is something close to my heart, I was born here but grew up in Taiwan, the country is like a still image treasured in my heart.
Using a mix of Chinese and English typography, I created harmony in between the two languages.
At the end of the book I did an interview with my family members who also grew up in Taiwan, in the end this book is meant to be for us while showing those from the outside why Taiwan is the way it is.
The Chinese character here sits large but embossed on, red English title as to draw more attention.
Romance Framed in Time, that's how I picture my hometown Taiwan in my mind, still framed treasure deep inside my heart.
Although sentimental, it is a personal experiment to combine Chinese characters with English,
a poetry with image, a treasure to the heart.
This project is meant to be an exhibition piece, showcasing the book at Bowers Museum OC, USA.
The posters takes images used in the book to entice the viewer for a more in-depth look.
There are two styles of posters, both resonating with parts of the book.
The graphic element from the book also extends out to things such as postcards,
wrist bands and others to be sold at the event.
This motion poster is meant to promote the book by having scenes
and images from the book invoke curiosity from within the viewers.
